      Hello Olly–

We have loved v2.. it has been a hard and reliable worker for our hotel for the past year. We are now planing an upgrade to v3 and have a few questions.

      1) Understanding that v3 has upgraded architecture, is there any way to import settings and/or menu items or are there any tools to streamline this process?

      2) We last spoke about v3 when it was in early beta. I was the one harping about a “checkout report” (a report that would combine all orders that a customer makes on one report (with date fields as separators, I suppose.) At the time you have no plans for such a feature, but did recommend I check in with you after v3’s release. Let me know if anything akin made it in.

      Looking forward to V3!

        I failed to mention–
V2 resides on a different site than the one V3 will be created on. I did previously read the v2 > v3 upgrade paper. So I need to know if there is a way to move the plugin (without breaking the destination site!)
Then I can upgrade according to the paper.

          Hi

I am not entirely sure what you mean by “V2 resides on a different site than the one V3 will be created on”.
If V3 is a different site entirely , I would assume you simply use v3.x to start off with
Otherwsie, I would suggest you *clone* the entire (V2) site and do the upgrade as outlined in the docs

the next version (or the one after that, not yet 100% sure) will have a – then documented – helper function that will let you pull out all orders according to a query you can set (i.e you can also then get all orders from a certain user / user id)
which you can then use to create csv’s (or whatever format you like)
Furthermore, there is of course already a “customer” tab in v3.x of the plugin that shows orders for a specific customer

            Hello Olly–

I did end up rebuilding the menu and settings freshly on the new site (well I’m still in the process of.) I figured it would be the best way to get a tour of the stuff added/changed in V3. Everything is so clean! Im loving the wppizza.default.css file– especially when compared to the mountain of bits that was the v2 file;)

That’s exciting to hear. I noticed the customer tab and read a bit about it. Looking forward to life in v3. Thanks!
