I need to be able to sort the ingredients by type on the order and subsequent email to the restaurant. That is if a customer orders a Build Your Own Pizza, Calzone, Salad, etc. I would like to be able to short the ingredients by cheese, meat, topping on the order page and on the email of the order. This would help the cooks when they make the pizza.

at the moment, you can custom sort all ingredients throughout cart,email , order page etc
(see here https://www.wp-pizza.com/topic/customize-sort-order-of-ingredients/)however, this does – probably – only partially address what you want. (although I cannot see any difference between the 2 pics you posted ?!)
having said that – i haven’t really investigated as I am (somewhat) on holiday – the filter mentioned above also includes the groups ingredients if memory serves me right, so maybe you could make it work .
Either way, there’s no in-built functionality as such (and as yet) that would do this , so you would need to do some coding
maybe the above helps or at least points you in the right direction ?!

I just put a “1” in front of the first selection then “2” and so on. That is okay with the owner for now but I was hoping to be able to provide the cooks with something like the attached image. 21 June, 2015 at 6:02 pm #10727I need a feature like this as well (I posted a similar comment asking about it but didn’t see a response). Maybe it’s a feature to consider since it really does help keep things organized when there are a lot of features/ingredients for an order item.
