      Hi Olly–

I’m trying to determine what the customer screen in the v3 backend does. I’ve entered several dummy orders using different customer names/email addresses (and from different devices) and when looking at the customer screen, everything seems to get filed under the user ID of “steve” — which is my WP account name.

Am I wrongfully expecting that this screen should list actual customers as entered on the order page or possibly the functionality isn’t implemented yet?

i hazard a guess you are not registering when you order with a different email, so you are just a guest and not a known customer

That is correct. Most of our guests just stay overnight and we typically do not get repeat customers like a restaurant would.
On the check out page, guests simply enter their name, email address and room numbers (required info) and that’s it.
I hope in some iteration wpp might recognize a unique name as a unique customer.

            it will never do that.
if you want that info you need to force registration , but there is already a very lengthy post here why i will not implement this

when i say “it will never do that.” i am referring of course to natively implementing it.
i am naturally not preventing anyone from doing such a thing

I’ve read that in the past and just re read it now and agree with it. I personally avoid registration wherever I can.
To be clear, we do not force or even allow registration.
Maybe I’m using the wrong verbiage and it now seems clear customer screen is intended for an entirely different purpose.

I’m just hoping I can somehow filter orders on the backend either by name or by email address and see a order history.
