      Hi Olly,

We have just started to get these errors listed under ipn errors

[24-Mar-2015 18:19:56 UTC] cURL error: [60] SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate

We are receiving the payments through paypal but not the orders on the site.

Customers state that the thank you page just keeps refreshing.

Any idea how to fix this issue?

            Version 2.1.7.5

            I don’t know about SSL

Do NOT use SSLThis should be off by default, but if you have connection problems getting your orders sent and verified by PayPal, try ticking this box

            This is unchecked.

and it should be unchecked (in fact, i will take that option out one day altogether)

either way it’s your server (php/’curl) setup speak to your host or administrator

Cheers but I Don’t understand that.

Do you have any idea why it’s only just started happening?

how comfortable are you with changing a line of code in a file ? (as there might be a better more future proof way to get around this one)

Ive tried to follow one of the instructions to fix the problem.

Added a file to the server and pointed php.ini to it.

If you have another idea ill be happy to try it.

try updating the paypal plugin to 2.1.7.7.
might actually in fact be down to me using a – now – old certificate in the ipn listener

2.1.7.7 uses inbuilt WP cert chains now (as opposed to using its own bundle), so updating WP will automatically also mean paypal uses that bundle instead (and is a much better approach anyway)

                                  I’ve updated the plugin.

Can’t test myself but we are likely to get more orders tonight so I will let you know if any more problems arise.

Thanks again for the amazing support.

Just thought you should know Paypal payments appear to be working okay.
