      Is there an option to somehow have a small screen popup to indicate a new order has arrived.

        no (as it already shows new orders ?! on that screen).
        that said, there is this

          by “?!” I guess you mean: “are you crazy?” :>)

          Yes I explained this as well to the client – suggesting they acknowledge the order so the new ones are bright yellow – just wanted to do my due diligence.

          And I’m thinking the sound option might work if they hook up an external speaker – waiting to see what they say.

            yup

            lol, no, i did not mean that.
            i meant “why a popup – i.e the same thing twice – if the colours should make it quite obvious already”

            that said, if you wanted to have a popup on any/every page – order history or not – you could also write some ajax on a timer or some such that checks for new orders via some query as in (roughly)

            
SELECT count(*) FROM wp_wppizza_orders WHERE payment_status='COMPLETED' AND order_status='NEW'
=>if results, do popup 
you get the idea....

              hmm, I might even make that an option at some point but no promises or ETA.
