some more solutions seem to be here
https://www.foldermill.com/solutions/remote-printing#print-from-google-drive
(still needs a computer to be on though from what i can see though, therefore not a direct replacement as such)
this would – seemingly , though not tested – actually somewhat work with the cloudprint plugin insofar as you can set the printer id to be “__google_docs” which would in effect add the order to your google drive and you might be able to use the software linked here to autoprint
I haven’t tested this – somewhat busy with other things currently – so if there’s someone that has tried this, I’d be very happy to hear it> I had to downgrade in some webpages because of this
you can do that of course, but I’d be interested to hear why a “asap” option is of any benefit to a shop bearing in mind what i said above about what – apparently – customers think “asap” means as opposed to what it means to a shop when you are actually closed – which of course is the main reason for using the plugin, i.e pre-order at a time when the shop is closed for a time when the shop is open again (or of course days in advance if set up that way)of course, my above comments are not absolute, but the development was – as always – based on users feedback
> But users coul not select a time outside of openung hours — so why is that a failure..?
they still cant. but – as outlined – they were able to select “asap” *outside* of the shops opening hours – after all that’s one of the reasons for using the plugin to start off with – and assumed (as people just don’t read things) it meant “in the next half an hour or so” – even if the shop was closed for the next 14 hours – or even days – or something, so then complained if they paid but didn’t get their stuff in 30 minutes or whatever.
now , they *have to actively* choose a timeslot so the ambiguity of “i said ‘asap’, but didnt know ‘asap’ means tomorrow when the shop is open again is eliminated…
in reality, “asap” means different things to whatever side of the table you are sitting at
for the customer, in many cases, it means “preferably now, but i can deal with it if it takes 1/2 hour or so”
for the shop it means, “i will do what i can, but if i’m closed i’ll do this asap when i’m open again” (naturally the shop cant do things when its shut)although i can see why this kind of thing might be a good idea, essentially treating certain dates like a sunday for example or something along these lines, it is currently not implemented
So one (perhaps the only) way to do that at the moment would be to have it once set from – let’s say – 30/10/2020 to 24/10/2020 and then with the same settings from 26/10/2020 until -> whenever
I’ll see what i can do in an update to the plugin, but no ETA or promises at the moment I’m afraid. these things always have a habit of turning out to be more complicated than they seem at first glance
>that the function is not more anymore
that is correct – it clearly says so in the changelog.the reason why it’s removed is because too many people reported that customers selected “asap” outside of opening hours and then complained when the order did not arrive within 30 minutes or so (obviously, because the shop was closed)
so now – outside opening hours – people have to actively select an available timeslot.
during opening hours, the next available timeslot is automatically selected , or – optionally – you can also set it to force the customer to select a timeslot *during* your opening hoursthat said, maybe there’s a way to bring back the “asap” at least during your actual opening hours, i’ll see what happens when i try to do something like that (though it will be somewhat different probably )
sure, whatever works for you best is great.
All I’m saying is that solutions that require a computer being on – and there are already many of them as outlined, no need to re-invent the wheel – are no real substitute for what cloudprint does>after computer switch on
but that’s exactly what we are trying to avoid to have to do as this sort of thing already exists in multiple forms (see discussions in the link i posted above)
happy to hear it.
Do want to share what the issue was here ?
(in case someone else comes across the same issue)you need to speak to your printer manufacturer. i know nothing about your printer
actually (admittedly i need to mention that in the plugin requirements)
if you are using wppizza v3+ it must be version 3.8 at a minimum for the preorder plugin to work.
after all, v3.7.1 is over a year and a half oldactually , looking at your site , you are not using wppizza 3.12.1 , but 3.7.1 ,
if you have enabled “Order Sorting:” in the plugin , then that may well be the issue (i’ll have to add a note to th eplugin that this will only work from version xyz onwards)
let me know if switching that option off will let you view the order history againfirst of all:
delete your debug.log (it’s over 200mb ! – noone needs to look at notices etc from 2 years ago – it will be re-generated if needs be )
secondly you have lots of[28-Apr-2020 14:15:23 UTC] PHP Notice: Constant WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY already defined in [path]/wp-config.php on line 94 [28-Apr-2020 14:15:23 UTC] PHP Notice: Constant WP_CACHE already defined in [path]/wp-config.php on line 98 [28-Apr-2020 14:15:23 UTC] PHP Notice: Constant WP_POST_REVISIONS already defined in [path]/wp-config.php on line 99 [28-Apr-2020 14:15:23 UTC] PHP Notice: Constant EMPTY_TRASH_DAYS already defined in [path]/wp-config.php on line 100 [28-Apr-2020 14:15:23 UTC] PHP Notice: Constant WP_MEMORY_LIMIT already defined in [path]/wp-config.php on line 101
which means those constants above are (re)defined in the wrong place somewhere and will not do anything (other than throwing those errors 1000’s of times)
apart from that:
does it work if you de-activate the pre-order plugin ?
if so, can i see a screenshot of the settings (i.e [your url]/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=wppizza&page=wppizza_preorder ) ?
can i also see the output of wppizza->tools->system info (if you post it here, perhaps set the reply to being a “private reply”)thanks
Hi
in a nutshell: no, this will not work
all the plugin does is allow someone to order for a set timeslot (in 5, 10, 15 min …. etc steps) that is available during your opening hoursi.e when you are closed, it will offer the timeslots available when you are next open (or indeed a few days in advance – depending on settings)
if you are open, it displays the timeslots to choose from (so if you are open 24/7 it will display those up to a given number of days in advance )
unless you have different sites ( one from breakfast items , one for hotfood Wed-Sun etc ) it knows nothing about what you may or may not want to have available for ordering
in a way it’s kind of binary.
if you use it , timeslots during your opening hours – depending on your settings – will become available for a customer to choose from . that is pretty much it . it makes no distinction between any of your products(Though there is a bit more granular control as to time in advance, preparation times, max orders per timeslot etc etc, but none of this applies to what I understand it is you want to achieve )
ignore the last 3 lines in above post.
what about your debug .log though ?anything in your debug.log ?
how exactly do you mean “no longer available” ?
is there no link on the left hand side to it, or is it just a blank page or what exactly ?
perhaps you can post a screenshot too…..and what version of wppizza and the preorder and gateway do you have installed ?
how exactly do you mean “no longer available” ?
is there no link on the left hand side to it, or is it just a blank page or what exactly ?
does it work again if you disable those 2 plugins (which gateway by the way ?)
perhaps you can post a screenshot too…..if it’s “just” a blank page, have you enabled debug and checked your debug.log ?
https://docs.wp-pizza.com/troubleshooting/just to respond to this:
there is no stockmanagement in wppizza (i.e the plugin expects you to have in stock what you are selling, though you could simply change a “menu item” / product to draft when your’re out of course)that said, as this request has cropped up a few times over the years (not continuously but every now and again) I am planning to look at that at some point when time allows. however, i think this will be quite a while yet – if ever – before i even get a chance to look at this to be honest.
so for the time being i think i’ll have to say “sorry to have to disappoint, this doesn’t exist” (not as an option i can offer anyway – though maybe someone else has made this available, but i don’t know myself of any such implementation)glad to hear it
